For your convenience, Altoona Regional Health System Federal Credit Union offers the best to our members -- a Debit Card to access your share draft/checking account and a Credit Card. Both cards carry the VISA logo and are accepted at over 14 million locations worldwide.

DEBIT CARD

With the debit card, checking has never been so convenient. By using your debit card, you are accessing your checking account. Debit cards work like writing a check; you will need to deduct or decrease your account by the amount of the purchase. Your purchases are free of any unnecessary fees, but because your debit card has the VISA logo, you’ll have all the purchase convenience of a regular VISA credit card. This card provides the safety and simplicity of allowing members to access their checking accounts 24-hours per day at either an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) or at a merchant point of sale. CREDIT CARD

A credit card is entirely different from a debit card -- you are accessing a line of credit. It’s basically borrowing funds or a loan. A limit is established by the lending institution when you open the account. These amounts must be paid back when you receive your bill, either in full or a monthly amount.
